In 2017, the Jumanji franchise was rebooted with a new film, simply titled Jumanji. Directed by Jake Kasdan, the movie starred Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. The film took a fresh approach, transforming the board game into a video game that brings four players into a virtual world. The movie was a massive success, grossing over $962 million worldwide and revitalizing the franchise.
