The band worked with producer Bob Rock, collaborating closely to achieve a more polished and radio-friendly sound without compromising their artistic integrity. The recording process took place at One on One Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California, from October 1990 to June 1991. This period was marked by significant creative decisions, including the decision to shorten song titles and focus on more straightforward, accessible song structures.
